‘All men must die.’ It’s an unfortunate truth, but also the translation behind ‘Valar Morghulis’ — the phrase written on every single character poster released by ‘Game Of Thrones’ on Feb. 25. Check out never-before-seen shots of your favorite returning characters — and some pretty stellar newbies — below!
Spring is coming, and with it the April 6 premiere of Season 4 of Game of Thrones. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) Season 4 looks like it’s going to be the bloodiest season yet — HBO’s newest tagline for the show literally translates into “All Men Must Die.”
‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 4 Posters — ‘Valar Morghulis’
Move over, Red Wedding.
Season 4 is (almost) here, and GoT won’t stop until several of your favorite characters are face-down in the dirt. The beautiful, black-and-white posters each feature an individual character with the same deathly phrase, which was introduced back in Season 2 when the assassin Jaqen H’ghar gave that coin to Arya Stark (Maisie Williams). It seems to suggest that HBO wants us to know that nobody is safe — something we pretty much figured after they slaughtered half the Starks last season — including faves like Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), and of course, my personal favorite King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson).
What’s most exciting is that the posters also give us a first look at newbie Pedro Pascal, who will be a force to be reckoned with as the southerner-with-a-vengeance Oberyn Martell. (Trust me, you’re going to love him.)
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Which poster is your favorite? Who do you think will die on Season 4? Oh, and fellow book readers — I WILL delete your comments if you spoil anything. So don’t.
