One day after the United States’ women’s Olympic hockey team suffered a devastating loss to the Canucks in the women’s hockey final, Team Canada beat Team USA once again in the men’s game!
Hockey has become the must-win event for both the United States and Canada in the Winter Olympic Games, and Team Canada came one step closer to that shiny gold medal when they defeated Team USA in a heartbreaker on Feb. 21.
Olympic Men’s Hockey Results: Canada Beats USA
What a game! While no one scored until the second period, it was an intense battle through the entire game. After a minute and a half in to the second period, Canada scored the first goal of the game thanks to Dallas Stars’ forward Jamie Benn.
We’ve got to say, both teams played so well — there were so many close plays and amazing saves by both Canada goalie Carey Price and US goalie Jonathan Quick. However, the offensive game was dominated by Canada.
After the celebrating is over, Canada will go head to head in the finals against Sweden on Sunday, while USA will face Finland for the Bronze.
What did you think of the game, HollywoodLifers? Does Canada have what it takes to defeat Sweden in the finals? Will USA win bronze over Finland? Let us know your theories in the comments!
