According to authorities, people might have actually disappeared in some of the locations that ‘Craigslist Killer’ Miranda Barbour has mentioned in her murder spree confession — but the reason why may surprise you.
19-year-old Pennsylvania native Miranda Barbour’s claims of a satanic cult killing spree are leading law enforcement officials in Alaska down a dark path. Find out what authorities are saying about Miranda’s claims below!
Miranda Barbour’s Shocking Murder Spree: Why Cops Aren’t Ruling It Out
Miranda has been giving investigators the exact locations for her alleged crimes, and Alaskan law enforcement agents are standing by to take action if the details match up with any unsolved cold cases, CNN reports. However, at this time, Alaskan State Troopers are saying that Miranda’s claims of murdering at least 22 people don’t match up with any unsolved murders in their state.
“At this time the Alaska State Troopers are not aware of any information — beyond Barbour’s comments quoted in the press — or evidence that would implicate Barbour with a homicide committed in Alaska,” the agency said in a press statement.
However, senior officials also say that they refuse to dismiss her incredible claims — but only because people go “missing” in their state frequently.
“The only reason I don’t discount her claims is because we have people who come to Alaska all the time who want to disappear; some are running from things and it is an easy state to do that in,” North Pole senior police officer Lt. Chad Rathbun told MailOnline. “Most Alaskans enjoy their privacy, being off the grid to some degree, you can easily do that out here … we have a large transient population and nobody misses them.”
Miranda Barbour Charged With Troy LaFerrara’s Murder
Though authorities have their many doubts when it comes to Miranda’s claims, she is definitely still on trial for the murder of 42-year-old Troy LaFerrara, whom authorities claim Miranda — along with her husband Elytte Barbour — lured with a Craigslist ad, strangled, repeatedly stabbed, and dumped in a yard. The evidence points highly to Miranda in that case, but the other 22 seemingly came out of nowhere.
What do you think HollywoodLifers, is Miranda telling the truth? Is this a cold-blooded killer with a body count too high to imagine, or is she just out of her mind? Leave us your thoughts in the comments.
