Simon Cowell has been showing off his ‘softer’ side since the birth of his first child, Eric Philip, on Valentine’s Day. Prior to Eric’s birth, the music mogul was very open about his distaste for certain aspects of fatherhood, it seems like now he only has one regret — not becoming a father sooner!
Who knew that the normally hard-shelled Simon Cowell, 54, would turn out to be a great big teddy bear underneath? HollywoodLife.com was just as surprised as the rest of the world when Simon openly showed affection for his baby boy, Eric Philip, all over social media. Now, sources close to Simon reveal that his one and only regret about fatherhood is not having children earlier.
Simon Cowell — Regrets Not Having Children Sooner
On Feb. 14 the world’s toughest critic became a father when his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, 38, went into labor while alone in New York City. Even though Simon was busy filming one of his many reality competition shows in the UK, he was quick to charter a jet and make his way back across the pond just in time for the birth of his first son. Eric, named after Simon’s father, has really brought out a softer side of Simon, and sources close to the music mogul reveal he wishes it had happened sooner.
“Simon is a changed man, he’s been telling people he wish he’d started this sooner because it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to him,” the source revealed EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “He’s been texting tons of pictures out and says he can’t wait to take Eric back to London to show him off.”
Simon Hopes To Raise Eric In The UK
Everyone knows that Simon is a busy, busy guy traveling all over the place what with all of his reality competition shows, boy bands, and other endeavours. Meanwhile, his girlfriend Lauren is well-rooted in New York City where her life includes also being a mom to her first son, 7-year-old Adam Silverman. While balancing things may be difficult for the first couple of years, our source reveals that Simon and Lauren are hoping to raise Eric in the UK.
“He has quite a lot of business in England but also has homes all over the place and business in the states as well,” a source close to the couple tells HollywoodLife.com. They are thinking once its time for schooling that the England is the answer but the first couple years they will travel with Eric all over the place based on Simon’s busy schedule.”
