The designer made up his own rules when it came to his Fall 2014 designs and playfully broke from tradition. The result? A bold collection we can’t wait to see on his fashion-forward fans, like KStew!
When it comes to fur, J.Mendel was definitely not afraid to incorporate the fabric into as many designs as he possibly could. Inspired by the geometric color play in the film Ballets Russess, J.Mendel designed a mix of furs, colors, textures and patterns to create an astonishing yet gorgeous Fall 2014 collection. We weren’t the only people in the audience falling in love with these perfect Fall looks. In fact, two gorgeous ladies, Anna Kendrick and Kelly Rutherford, enjoyed front row seats of the show pointing out their favorite J.Mendel looks. The designer’s geometric designs and mix of bold furs made a fabulous statement on the runway — and we can’t wait to see celebs rock these chic looks on the red carpet!
J.Mendel Fall 2014 Collection:
Mixing patters, textures and colors has been a huge trend we’ve spotted on a slew of runways for Fall 2014. In my opinion, J.Mendel pushed the limits and did such a fabulous job incorporating this funky new trend — and it’s only a matter of time before his celeb fans scoop up his latest line! From long, Persian lamb colorblocked trench coats to a fur-lined, hand-pieced eel skin coat with a Mongolian lamb collar, the designer paid incredible attention to creative detail and design. We loved how he created simple silhouettes to balance the bold patterns. Along with the outerwear, there was also elegant shift dresses with asymmetrical hemlines and geometric designs painted red, black, and sapphire blue. He captured the romance of the ballet by adding jewel tones into his gorgeous evening gowns — and we can’t forget about the J.Mendel handbag collection, that captured a similar mix of patterns and textures! Plaid totes in shades of persian lamb and gold metallic envelope clutches with sapphire mink designs made up his fabulous bags for fall.
J.Mendel is respected by so many celebs for his incredible designs. We know Kristen Stewart is a huge fan of J.Mendel as she wore his designs for three different Breaking Dawn appearances — and we’re sure she’ll love the latest collection!
