Former ‘Bachelor’ Sean Lowe is happily married to his winner Catherine Giudici, but that doesn’t mean he thinks the show is perfect. In fact, the 30-year-old recently said that the show is ‘cheesy’ and ‘unnatural!’
Sean Lowe was the king of the castle on Season 17 of The Bachelor, when he had the opportunity to get to know 26 beautiful girls. None appealed to him more than Catherine Giudici, however, who won his heart on the show and then in real life when they got married on Jan. 26. Sean and Catherine are a match made in heaven, but Sean made a recent confession about the show in general — and it’s not pretty!
Sean Lowe Didn’t Think He Would Do A Reality Show
In a recent short film for the Christian website I Am Second, Sean said dissed the show that made him famous. Sean reveals that while he’s glad he found his sweetheart, he didn’t particularly like being on the actual show.

“Never in a million years did I think I’d do a cheesy reality TV show about love,” he said. “Guys go on there and get drunk and there is the fantasy suite; sex [and] nudity. It just did not seem like something that represented me.” He then added that he didn’t feel like the number of women on the show was right.
“It’s unnatural to date 25 women at the same time,” Sean said.
Sean also admitted that he wasn’t highly fond of the show, but still didn’t shy away about his presence on it. He said even though the actual show didn’t appeal to him, he felt that God had opened a door for him to meet his future — and now current — wife.
“A lot of the time, it felt wrong,” he said. “I wrestled with it quite a bit, thinking ‘I’m pretty sure God opened this door, but what if he didn’t?'”
Sean is an avid Christian, and he was worried that he was being hypocritical and setting a bad example by dating so many women at once. He was even thought of as a “weirdo” as he believes in not having sex before marriage, and stuck to that during the show.
One person on the other hand that thinks the show is great is the original Bachelorette Trista Sutter who spoke with HollywoodLife.com thanks to her work with VIVA VANTAGE* PAPER TOWELS as she shared her thoughts about this seasons show saying, “Yeah, I don’t know any spoilers. But I think that there is definitely a palpable chemistry between Juan Pablo and Claire. Its something you can’t force but you know who knows, I mean look at Sean and Catherine for example. They weren’t close at first but they determined that they were meant to be with each other. It took them a while. Who knows who he will end up with but I like them together. I hope he finds the love that he is looking for!”
I guess different strokes for different folks!
Sean And Catherine Are Happy As Can Be
The two newlyweds truly were a match made in heaven — Catherine can’t stop raving about their marriage on Twitter! On Feb. 11, Catherine tweeted, “Can’t wait for our first V-Day as Mr. and Mrs. Lowe!,” and then posted a picture of the two of them laying down together.
Of course, it has to be said that the two finally consummated their love for the first time on their honeymoon — with “fireworks” as Sean explained.
“I think we both performed extremely well,” he said.
