This post is brought to you by the number zero (aka, the average Flappy Bird high score.)
The removal of Flappy Bird from digital shelves has been met with a flurry of tragedies — the death hoax of creator Dong Nguyen, to name just one — but leave it to Sesame Street to make it all better. The Sesame Workshop just rolled out Flappy Bert, a parody of the addictive mobile game, featuring everyone’s favorite jaundice unibrow aficionado, Bert!
While I’m a little surprised the good people at Sesame Workshop used a bluebird instead of a pigeon for the game — Bert loves pigeons, FYI — I’m still absolutely in love with their latest in a long line of brilliant pop-culture spoofs. And the best part of all is that, because the game is catered to younger players, it’s a million times easier and less frustrating than the original Flappy Bird.
Speaking of things I love, can we talk about how Bert screams out “Ernie!” whenever he falls to the ground? As if Ernie will even be able to hear Bert’s anguished screams over the sounds of his rubber ducky squeaking.
HollywoodLifers, is Sesame Street‘s Flappy Bert enough to ease your saddened hearts? Drop a comment with your thoughts on the incredible Sesame Workshop creation below!
