Anna Kendrick was sitting pretty in the front row of Jill Stuart’s Fall 2014 show, held at Lincoln Center on Feb. 8. We could see her in a lot of the designs. See the clothes and get the details on the hair & makeup looks below!
With a heavy bass shaking the tent, models walked the runway in feminine frocks with a rockstar edge. The hard and soft mix was accented with wearable hair and makeup — hair in a center part with soft waves and black eyeliner rimming the eyes — get the backstage scoop right here.
Jill Stuart Fall 2014 — It’s Black, It’s White
Jill described her collection as “irregular beauty, untamable, easy, boyish, effortless, unimpressionable and adorned.”
Polka dots, flowy skirts sparkly accents gave the collection a girly vibe while the black and white color palette made it slightly hard.
The clothes would be perfect for Anna, who was wearing Jill Stuart and Monica Vinader jewelry at the show.
Jill Stuart Hair — Easy, Soft Waves
“The spirit of the clothing is translated into the hair. Hair has natural looking texture throughout,” said hairstylist James Pecis for Beauty.com.
Easy, Soft Nails By Essie
Manicurist Rita Remark told HollywoodLife.com backstage before the show that “nails are clean and fresh, like a reformed rocker chic. A base coat is like primer to a makeup artist — it prevents streaking. Apply Ridge Filling Base Coat first. Then Allure — an ecru, sheer white shade. Follow with the Matte About You Top Coat for a raw, clean, no shine look.”
Makeup Inspiration — ‘Smudgy, Not Grunge But Expensive’
Makeup was done by Aaron de May using Maybelline products.
“The look is dewy skin — we used Baby Lips lip balm on cheekbones. We used three colors on the eye and smudged them to give a worn-in feel. After the eyeliner, we applied concealer under the eye and used powder to set. We applied eyeliner on top and then took almost all of it off with a Q-tip. We applied it heavier on the bottom line. The look is a little tough and hard.”
The three eyeliners used were Master Smokey in Blue Blaze, Master Smokey in Emerald Fury and Master Drama in Vibrant Violet.
