‘The Biggest Loser’ fans were shocked when the Feb. 4 finale crowned an extremely thin Rachel Frederickson, who dropped an astonishing 60 percent of her body weight to win the title. The 24-year-old fired back about her weight loss on the ‘Today’ show, saying that she was still ‘so grateful’ for the experience.
While many people think that The Biggest Loser‘s Season 15 champion Rachel Frederickson lost far too much weight to fit her tiny frame, Rachel herself does not seem to agree! Find out what Rachel told the Today show about her experience below.
‘Biggest Loser’ Rachel Frederickson Interview
Rachel may have dropped from an unhealthy 260 lbs to an also semi-unhealthy 105 lbs, but she still told Today that she was grateful for her 155-pound loss.
“I can’t believe it,” she said. “It’s been just such an amazing almost 7 1/2-month journey. I’m truly so grateful for the whole, whole experience.”
Rachel, who had to chat with Today via satellite due to New York City’s inclement weather, added that her past life as a swimmer helped her immensely when it came to winning the show.
“Absolutely [being an athlete helped me],” she said. “I lost that athlete; I lost that confidence. Coming back, I got that spark back. The athlete started to come out. Winning the challenges and then fighting for my spot in the finale and the triathalon — to have that athlete come back was just an amazing, amazing feeling.”
Rachel had also caught up with Today reporters the night before, and when they asked her about her shocking transformation, she admitted that it was time to find a little balance now that she has this newly svelte figure.
“I’m at the maintenance point now, so I need to find some balance and make sure I work out and I eat healthy and make good choices 90 percent of the time,” she told Today after the finale. “I’m not sure [I’ll maintain this weight], but I plan to try new exercises and just continue on this path and see where that takes me.”
Hopefully Rachel will find a healthy balance, and continue on her journey to optimum health!
