Radio Shack’s Nostalgic Super Bowl Commercial: The ’80s Are Back

Sometimes you have to look backwards in order to move forward, and Radio Shack took this very literally when they revived a slew of classic ’80s characters for their wacky Super Bowl commercial.

What do Alf, Dee Snyder, Mary Lou Retton, Hulk Hogan, Cliff from “Cheers,” and Chuckie have in common? (Well, besides being ’80s icons, that is.) They all shop at Radio Shack! Check out the electronics store’s mega-nostalgic Super Bowl commercial below the jump.

Radio Shack decided to go with the Buzzfeed route of enlisting the help of good old fashioned nostalgia for their Super Bowl spot, and it definitely paid off. Sure, having Retton, Alf, and the rest of the gang raid a Radio Shack for outdated equipment wasn’t the most creative concept we saw last night, but it definitely served its purpose. We laughed!
