Way back in 1999, the world fell in love with a revolutionary new film called ‘The Matrix.’ Its dynamic special effects have long since became old news, but that didn’t stop Kia from bringing back Morpheus for their Super Bowl commercial.

The Matrix is back! Kia has enlisted the film’s star Laurence Fishburne for their new Super Bowl spot, which parodies the hit 1999 sci-fi thriller. Check it out below the jump!

In the ad, Laurence (as his infamous character Morpheus, who is now apparently a valet) has a couple make the most important decision of their lives.

“It is the world of luxury that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth,” he says. “Take the blue key, go back to the luxury you know. Take the red key, and you’ll never look at luxury the same again.”

In case you slept through the ’90s, this was referring to the infamous “red pill/blue pill scene” from the movie. Funny, right? However, things take a strange, very non-Matrix-y turn when Laurence starts full-on belting out opera music at the end of the ad.

What do you think of the Kia commercial, HollywoodLifers? Does it make you want to watch The Matrix all over again?
