Great Scott! With the help of ‘Back to the Future’ director Robert Zemeckis, the classic film has been transformed for the London stage!

One of classic films is being recreated for the stage in West End, London! Although no one will ever play Marty McFly like Michael J. Fox and no one can really yell “Great Scott” like Christopher Lloyd, we’re so excited that Back to the Future is now going to be on the stage.

The Broadway show will land on the stage in 2015, which will mark the 30th anniversary of the original Back to the Future.

Director Robert Zemeckis co-wrote the musical with screen writers Bob Gale and Jamie Lloyd; they will also be collectively writing a book to go along with the show, and Jamie will direct.

‘Back To The Future’ Sequel In Works?

New music and lyrics will be written by composer Alan Silvestri and songwriter and record producer Glen Ballard — who has worked with Alanis Morrissette and Michael Jackson). We’re looking forward to hopefully hearing Huey Lewis‘ “Power of Love!”

“The production will include illusions, skateboarding and many other surprises that will capture the spirit of the film but freshly interpret it for a new audience,” Jamie said in a statement on Jan. 31.

The musical will be produced by Amblin Entertainment (owned by Steven Spielberg), Colin Ingram, Universal Stage Productions, Donovan Mannato and CJ E&M. They also hired Andrew Willis to be the skateboard consultant.

So, HollywoodLifers — are you excited? Do you want to see Back to the Future, the musical?
