Apparently there is a televised football game called ‘The Super Bowl’ airing on Feb. 2, but we couldn’t care less. These newly revealed photos from the first ever ‘Kitten Bowl’ prove that Sunday’s most ferocious game will be not be played by the Seahawks or the Broncos, but the oh-so-fierce kittehs!
Ever since 2005, the Super Bowl has faced ferocious competition from furry friends over on Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl. That’s been cute and all, but the event has always lacked the type of fierce competition required to hold our attention — and who loves pouncing around and fighting over toys more than kittens? Enter Hallmark’s Kitten Bowl, which is sure to be the most adorable televised “football game” in history. Don’t believe us? Just see the pics!
The Kitten Bowl: The Most Adorable Football Line-Up Of All Time
Oh. My. God.
From the adorable ginger wide receiver who nabs a sick Hail Mary pass to the defensive-back tabby who for some reason won’t let go of the goal post, these kittens are the real deal. Also, who needs Peyton Manning when you have that adorable little yellow fellow who won’t stop hugging the football? It would probably be better for him to throw the ball out of bounds than take the sack under pressure, but either way we admire his dedication to the sport.
The event will be hosted by Beth Stern, wife of Howard, and will also include cameos by Bob Harper, Rachael Ray, Regis Philbin, Hoda Kotb, Kelly Rutherford, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Carrie Ann Inaba and more. A grand total of 71 baby kitties gave it their all for the big Bowl, which was actually shot back in October.
The best part is, by the end of the shoot, each and every kitty involved had found their forever homes. Sniff.
