Is Dillon really evil? Is he even human? Luke answers some of HollywoodLife.com’s biggest ‘Ravenswood’ questions!
The winter finale of Ravenswood is just two weeks away, and Luke Benward tells HollywoodLife.com that we’ll finally get some answers about Dillon’s connection to the pact, as well as the apparent villain’s true nature. “We haven’t really dove into how Dillon fits into everything; just his relationship with Olivia and the fact that he’s not who he says he is,” Dillon tells us. “That’s what we’ll find out in the next two episodes, at least with my character. Like, why is he being such a d**k?”
See, Ravenswood fans? Luke totally gets it.
‘Ravenswood’ Q&A: Luke Benward Teases Dillon’s Dark Side
When you first signed on to play Dillon, did you know about his dark side?
I didn’t know how they were going to do it, or how much, but when I auditioned, I did it with a normal, boy-next-door scene, and kind of a darker scene. They did tell me there would be a twist to the character, but I didn’t know how soon it would be revealed. That came as quite a shock.
I know you can’t tell me everything, but have you been filled in about Dillon’s whole story?
There are definitely things I still don’t know. I have a feeling Dillon’s going to be that guy where you never find out everything. You’ll always be asking more questions, because he’s an interesting concept to wrap your head around. You will learn more about his involvement, though, very soon.
It’s strange seeing you play the bad guy; it’s not something you’ve done before.
No, I haven’t, and it’s really nice. I really like it. It’s fun.
There’s speculation that Dillon might not be human. Is that a possibility?
Honestly, everything’s a possibility in Ravenswood. I don’t know what he is, or what he isn’t, or where he came from. That’s a question I ask all the time, whether he’s human or not. I think he is, but you never know.
And is he definitely bad, or could he be a good guy caught in a bad situation?
That’s what we’ll find out this week: Why he’s doing what he’s doing and how he’s involved with stuff.
A lot of your scenes are with Max. What’s she like as a scene partner?
She’s really fun! For as young as she is, she’s so professional. She’s great at what she does, she’s very creepy.
Lastly, let’s talk about Olivia. Do you think Dillon really loves her?
You know, I personally do think he really cares for Olivia. There’s a line in the upcoming episode, which I can’t say — mostly because I can’t remember — but it references the fact that he does love her. And whether that’s fake, and he’s just putting up a front, I can’t say for sure. I can say, though, that I play the character like he’s in love with her.
