Justin was caught zooming down a residential street in Miami on Jan. 23, and the moment when police began trailing him and his drag racing opponent Khalil was evidently caught on tape. Watch the footage below!
Justin Bieber and his buddy Khalil‘s joy ride in Miami was cut short on Jan. 23 when police pulled both stars over and subsequently arrested them for DUI and drag racing in Miami. Now, new footage from a nearby security camera has hit the internet, showing the exact moment when police surrounded Justin and Khalil’s sports cars.
Justin Bieber: Watch His Drag Racing Before Arrest
A private surveillance camera in the residential neighborhood of Miami captured Justin drag racing his yellow Lamborghini with a police car following close behind him. The video also shows a red Ferrari, which Khalil was driving, closely behind, along with black SUVs — possibly the ones that blocked off the residential street — and police cars a bit further behind the cavalcade.
Because of the video’s mediocre quality and brief running time, it’s hard to specifically make out if the two stars were racing and just how fast they were going — the police report claimed they were driving 55 to 60 mph, about twice the legal speed limit.
Justin Bieber Arrested For DUI & Drag Racing
We still don’t have video of what happened after, when Justin — after first being “belligerent” towards the authorities — admitted to taking prescription drugs, smoking weed, and drinking a beer before getting behind the wheel. He was subsequently charged with drag racing, DUI, resisting arrest, and driving with an expired license.
Though this new video footage calls into question just how dangerous Justin and Khalil’s joy ride was, the bottom line is that he drove a car while under the influence of several substances. He may not have been “drag racing” by definition, but he was certainly breaking the law.
