Poor Lolo! She must have been so excited to make the U.S. Olympic Bobsled team, but now critics and some bobsledders who didn’t make the squad are saying she was only chosen because of her ‘celebrity status.’ How rude!
Lolo Jones‘ teammates are coming to her defense after she beat out fellow bobsledders Emily Azevedo and Katie Eberling for the final spot on the U.S. Olympic Bobsled team, causing an outcry in the bobsledding community. While critics say that Lolo didn’t deserve to make the squad, her teammate Jazmine Fenlator insists Lolo is an “integral” member of the “wolf pack.”

Lolo totally earned her spot on the team and she worked just as hard as anyone else to get there, Jazmine tells TMZ in a new interview.
“The Olympic team has developed a bond,” Jazmine says. “We have each other’s backs.”
“We have great chemistry together,” she adds. “Don’t know how the team would do without her.”
At least someone has Lolo’s back!
USBSF Defends Lolo Jones Pick
The U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation also defended its decision, saying Lolo was chosen based on her performance, not on the amount of publicity or endorsements she generates, ESPN reports.
“Nobody put any pressure on us,” the federation’s CEO, Darrin Steele, said. “We haven’t made a single deal based on Lolo Jones.”
“At the end of the day, the selection committee, we don’t look at Twitter or anyone outside our sport,” Darrin added. “We’re more concerned about inside our sport. There’s a lot of factors in making our decisions. Performance is the biggest one.”
