Roy Garber: ‘Shipping Wars’ Star Passes Away

A&E sadly confirmed Roy’s death on the Shipping Wars Facebook page, posting a picture of Roy and a heartfelt message:

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a member of the A&E family. Our thoughts are with Roy’s loved ones during this difficult time. He will be missed.

Roy had an ongoing heart condition, his family told TMZ. He leaves behind a longtime girlfriend, who confirmed his death, and his son Travis — who he raised by himself for over 18 years.

As one of the more beloved stars on Shipping Wars, an A&E show about independent carriers who make thousands of dollars by transporting unique items, Roy made a name for himself by being unrelenting and up for anything.

His A&E bio describes him as “a serious jack-of-all-trades, and a major know-it-all.” He took on any job that came his way with gusto, confidence and fearlessness. In his spare time, Roy spent time as an “avid fisherman and master scuba diver,” of course taking his hobbies to the max by heading to the deepest waters of the Gulf Coast to shark hunt.

Roy was clearly taken far too soon, and he will be sorely missed as a reality star and as a person. Our thoughts go out to his friends and family during this difficult time.
