Jon Gosselin’s worst fears about his kids were realized after his ex, Kate and their twin daughters’ awkward interview on ‘The Today Show.’ Jon thinks the kids are not well-adjusted, and their life of seclusion only damages them further by making them feel afraid.
Jon Gosselin has been very outspoken about the way his ex, Kate Gosselin, parents their eight kids, even before their teenage twins Cara and Mady gave a cringeworthy Today Show interview with their mom. Jon was already concerned about the kids’ well being under Kate’s watch before the intense, televised stare-down, since “you can’t breathe the wrong way without upsetting her,” he told InTouch.
Kate Gosselin Easily Upset By Kids’ Behavior: Jon Gosselin Fears Overbearing Parenting
Cara and Mady’s behaviors on their Today Show interview — where the girls seemed to stay silent out of fear for Kate — is something their dad, Jon, has been concerned about for sometime. “You can’t breathe the wrong way without upsetting her,” he told InTouch. “The kids have to ask before they get a drink, before they get a snack, before they open the fridge, before they got to the bathroom. It’s ridiculous.”
“They have problems adjusting with their peers” Jon said of his eight kids. “They are well-mannered, and that is great, but when we go into an environment with other children, they cling to me. They don’t go out into the playground or make new friends.”
Jon thinks their inability to play with other kids is a problem. “They are waiting for me to make the first move and introduce them. That is a bad thing — it’s not normal. It’s hard for them to adjust,” he told InTouch.
Kate Gosselin Defends Her Parenting s
Kate thinks her family’s “secluded” lifestyle is just intimate family time, and that it hasn’t affected the kids negatively at all, like Jon claims. “Anyone who has ever personally met our children all have the same thing to say: They are the most normal, pleasant, polite, loving, and well-adjusted children they have ever met,” Kate told InTouch. She said that everyone they meet even claims, “they are a delight to be around.”
