After much anticipation, Lena’s very first ‘Vogue’ cover is here — and she looks stunning! Do you agree?
Lena Dunham is ready for her close up. After a lot of speculation and anticipation, the 27-year-old Girls creator has found herself on the February 2014 issue of Vogue, and the picture captures the star in a way we don’t often get to see her. She isn’t scowling or attempting to be funny, instead, she’s relaxed and looks beautiful. Shot by famed photog Annie Leibovitz, Lena really unleashed a side we’ve never seen before — and we’re loving it!
Lena Dunham’s ‘Vogue’ Cover:
While we’re sure critics will begin to pick apart the beautiful cover and criticize the magazine for using a close-up of the star, we think the image is flawless — and inside, Lena’s figure looks fantastic in a slew of high-fashion looks. Inside the shoot she channels her character, but it looks like Hannah received a major high-fashion makeover! While lounging in bed with her co-star, Adam Driver, (who plays her on-screen boyfriend), instead of sporting a flimsy tank top and shorts, she’s rocking a strapless, embellished dress from Prada’s Spring 2014 collection that hugs her curves. In another shot, she’s at a subway stop in a vibrant ensemble and a pair of pumps.
While the cover marks a major milestone for Lena, it’s also refreshing to see the high-fashion magazine feature a woman whose figure doesn’t fit into the typical stereotype. We commend the Vogue team for selecting Lena, mainly because it was well deserved. The cover is a major honor, however, the shoot actually marks Lena’s second time in Vogue. In 2012, the fashion magazine interviewed the four Girls stars at the beginning of the show’s fame.
What do you think of Lena’s first Vogue cover? Are you loving her high-fashion shoot as much as I am?
