Justin Bieber’s friend Lil Za was arrested on felony charges for the second time in one day after he allegedly smashed a phone while still in jail. The rapper was also charged with possession of felony narcotics during a raid on Justin’s home on the morning of Jan. 14.
Lil Za was minutes away from getting released from police custody when he allegedly flipped out and destroyed a phone in the holding cell of a jailhouse. Now the rapper is facing “additional charges” for the incident, which is also a felony, Lt. Michael Williams of the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station tells HollywoodLife.com.
Lil Za Arrested Again For Allegedly Vandalizing Phone In Jail
Lil Za, whose real name is Xavier Smith, was about to post bail and be released from jail when he lost his cool. He is currently being re-booked for vandalism, according to TMZ.
“Zavier Smith was additionally charged with an incident that resulted in felony vandalism concerning a phone located in the holding cell this afternoon at the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station,” Lt. Michael Williams tells HollywoodLife.com.
Lil Za was on the phone “when he apparently got angry and started yelling. He started banging the receiver against the wall—and then ripped the phone off the wall entirely,” a source tells E! News.
Lil Za’s bail will be now set at around $75,000. It had previously been set at $20,000 for the drug charge, according to E!
This is just not Lil Za’s day. We hope he gets his act together soon.
Lil Za Arrest: Justin Bieber’s Friend May Not Have Been Holding Cocaine
While Justin was being detained by police in his garage, Lil Za was handcuffed and arrested on felony narcotics possession. Police initially believed the drugs they found to be cocaine but now think that it could be Molly, a form of Ecstasy, according to TMZ.
Police also discovered Xanex in Justin’s home, which they believe also belonged to Lil Za. If the drugs are not cocaine, Lil Za will be facing much less jail time. “Cocaine could land him in prison for 3 years, but punishment for MDMA is much less, about 1 year,” TMZ reports.
Officials tell HollywoodLife.com they are testing the drug and will have results by the end of the week.
