For those who felt like Bruno Mars wasn’t big enough to headline the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show, do not fret — the Red Hot Chili Peppers are coming to the rescue! The iconic rock band was added to the bill on Jan. 11. Are you excited to see Bruno go toe-to-toe with RHCP?
Red Hot Chili Peppers Playing With Bruno Mars During Super Bowl Halftime
While Fox was prepping for the huge NFL playoff game between the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks, Bruno cut in and confirmed the rumors that the Chili Peppers would be his guest for the big halftime show on Feb. 2. Talk about stealing some thunder!
Though on paper, a combo of Bruno and RHCP sounds a little off, it should bring in a large group of people who may not have been as psyched to just see Bruno solely own the stage. And ’90s rock gods Anthony Kiedis and Flea will definitely add a unique edge to Bruno’s retro pop stylings.
It was first reported on Jan. 10 that RHCP would be joining the halftime show by the Los Angeles Times. Before their Super Bowl appearance, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are slated to perform in a pre-game bash in Brooklyn on Feb. 1, hosted by sports radio station WFAN.
Now the Super Bowl is likely going to have a much broader selection of people tuning in to see the halftime fun. But what do you think about the decision of bringing Bruno and RHCP together, HollywoodLifers? Let us know!
