The makeup was done by Nick Barose. He tells exactly how he created the look:

“I went with an elegant, youthful and regal look with a slight 60’s feel — very Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday — with elegant full brows, a soft golden sheen on the lids, flirty lashes and a flick of liquid liner. I first prepped her skin by applying Jouer Essential Matte Touch to keep skin from looking oily and set the makeup. I started by evening out skin by blending MAC Matchmaster liquid foundation then matted down the T-zone with MAC Blot Powder in Deep Dark to keep skin polished.

I then filled in her brows to give it that full Audrey Hepburn elegance by using Votre Vu Arch de Triumph Brow Definer. Then I dabbed a sheer golden tone eyeshadow, Sisley Ombré Glow Eyeshadow, in Amber on her upper lids and inner corners. Then, I added black liquid liner and slightly winged it out. The tails shouldn’t look too long — it’s retro-ish — I used Armani Maestro Liquid Liner.

I then added 2 coats of Sisley Intense Mascara just on top — leave the bottom clean. On cheeks and lips, I wanted to have a soft, lady like rose petals effect by staining it with deep pink stain (Votre Vu Vu On Rouge in Ma Cherie). Then I added a shimmery flesh tone lipstick (Armani Rouge Ecstasy in 202 Milano) on top of the stain to make the color more “pink champagne,” similar to her dress, by staining it with the deep pink first. It allows me to keep the look monochromatic but the hint of pink keeps it from appearing washed out.”

Larry Sims styled her hair and told

“I started off shampooing Lupita’s hair with Smooth N Shine Go-Pro Curls Frothie Shampoo to give her a clean, moisturized finish. We then sprayed Go-Pro Curls Curl-licious Mist on her towel dried hair to add extra softness and moisture in her hair. Next, I added a dime sized amount of Go-Pro Curls Butter Bouncin’ Gel to define her natural curl pattern. I finished her look by brushing down the sides and used got2b oil-licious shine serum for an added glossy finish.”

Do you hope Lupita wins an award for 12 Years A Slave, HollywoodLifers?
