The CW’s supernatural drama — and its leading lady, Kristin Kreuk — took home top honors Jan. 8!
If a Beastie votes on the internet, yet no screen time is given to the win during the People’s Choice Awards, does it still count? Of course! They may not have gotten as much publicity as Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev‘s big kiss, but two hefty honors were given to The CW’s Beauty & The Beast on Jan. 8 — and HollywoodLife.com thinks the red-hot drama deserves its turn in the spotlight.
‘Beauty & The Beast’ Wins Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show At People’s Choice Awards
Let’s start with the big one: Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show, one of the fiercest categories in all of People’s Choice. Beauty & The Beast was up against four shows with some of the most loyal fandoms around: Once Upon A Time, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and The Walking Dead. The series’ victory is a true testament to the show’s incredibly dedicated fans.
Then again, are you really surprised Beauty & The Beast won? It took home the same honor at last year’s ceremony, making it two-for-two since it premiered in 2012. The show’s stars happily used Twitter to thank everyone for voting, including the Beast himself, Jay Ryan:
Cheers for the 2014 #PCA win!! Congrats KK!!!

Kristin Kreuk Wins Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress At People’s Choice Awards
Kristin Kreuk also got a special honor at the PCAs, snagging her first personal victory. She beat out some seriously choice ladies — Games of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke, Once Upon A Time‘s Ginnifer Goodwin, The Vampire Diaries‘ Nina Dobrev and Orphan Black‘s Tatiana Maslany — for the award, and I have to say I’m once again impressed by her devoted fans.
Kristin thanked Beasties via Twitter for their devotion, and even taught them a new word — or at least one I’d never heard before:
