Willie and his wife Korie revealed in a brand new interview that they’re happy to be back filming their A&E show and they hope the world can move on from Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments. Do you agree that viewers should forgive and forget?
The Robertson’s want to start 2014 fresh and get back to their hit show, Duck Dynasty. Two of the stars from the reality show, Willie Robertson, and Korie Robertson, spoke out in a special New Year’s Eve special on Fox News and said they think they “learned a lot” but that the family is “ready to go” when it comes to leaving Phil Robertson‘s scandal behind them.
‘Duck Dynasty’ Stars Ready To Move On From Phil Robertson’s Scandal
Willie and Korie sat down with Fox News hosts Bill Hemmer and Elisabeth Hasselbeck on New Year’s Eve and revealed that the show will continue on and that they’ve actually already filmed several new episodes.
“We’re just glad to be back to work,” Willie said. “A&E and us are fine. We’re looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows. It’s a new year, so we’re ready to break in a new year and start all over again. We’re ready to get started. We got a new season coming up in a couple weeks, and we’re really excited about that. We got a couple episode filmed … and we’re ready to move on. I think we all learned a lot, and we’re just ready to move on, and the family’s happy and ready to go.”
Korie echoed her husband’s comments and said repeatedly that everyone is “happy, happy, happy.”
“I’m just glad the family is all together,” she said. “The best thing about the show is we get to do it together as a family, and that fact that we get to continue to do that, we’re all happy, happy, happy. At the end of day, we sit down and thank God for our blessings ,and we’re gonna continue to do that and hopefully we can spread that message. And I think, as a country, if we can come back to that a little bit, we’ll have a great 2014.”
Phil’s Other Sons ‘Could Care Less’
On the other side of the equation are 44-year-old Jase and 35-year-old Jep, who “could care less” if their fame and money disappears, says a source.
“Jase and his dad were very ready to leave the show and move on to other projects more focus on ministry before all this,” the source says. “Their hearts just aren’t in it anymore. [Jep] also expressed a desire to focus on other ventures. He sees this as a chance for the family to focus on the church and give lectures for their Christian fans.”
Same goes for Phil, who apparently hasn’t been remotely affected by the scandal that has muddied his name for the show’s non-orthodox fans.
“He’s been stepping back from the show little by little and easing full-time into a role of ministry,” the source says. “This is not even a scandal in his eyes. Willie is the one who has to worry about what direction this takes them in.”
