Britney Spears fans, cover your ears! While Britney was out promoting her ‘I Am Britney Jean’ TV special, she spilled the beans on the dreaded ‘R’-word — retirement.
Britney Spears: ‘I Do Miss Louisiana’
Let’s be honest, here — we’ve all had times where we thought it might be best for Britney, who obviously loves spending time with her family — especially sons Sean Preston, 8, and Jayden James, 7 — to retire. But now, given her career resurgence with the two-year Vegas residence at Planet Hollywood, is not that time. Still, Britney told E! that she does often think about it.
“I have thought about it, but I think right now is my time to perform and doing what I’m doing,” Britney said. (Collective sigh of relief.)
“If I happen to have another baby or something like that, I’d probably move back to Louisiana,” she continued. “I do miss Louisiana. I miss the people. I miss the food. I miss the way of life, how everything is really simple. There’s no traffic like there is in L.A. It’s really nice.”
Having lived in Los Angeles, we feel you on the whole traffic thing, Brit.
Britney Spears: Life After Fame
Britney also told the network that even though fame has been nasty to her at times, she’s okay with Sean Preston and Jayden James following in her footsteps — and she’d better be, because they’ve already started!
“I’m sure they will [perform],” Britney said. “Preston, he’s already dancing up a storm. He shows all my dancers how he can dance. It’s really funny.”
Jayden, she continued, “is actually the singer. He sings a lot.”
Watch your back, Smith siblings! What do you think of Britney’s retirement plans, HollywoodLifers?
