After 39 days of beach-bumming and back-stabbing in the Philippines — more so the latter than the former — host Jeff Probst ushered in a new winner on the Dec. 15 finale of Survivor: Blood Vs. Water. Drumroll please…
Following the final tribunal meeting, and preceding the intense reunion, Tyson Apostol was revealed to be the winner of season 27 — and more importantly, the $1 million grand prize! With (at least) five of the eight votes in his name, Tyson won hands-down.
Physical skill is one thing, but as we all know, it takes more than that to win Survivor. When the Blood Vs. Water finale began, only four contestants remained — Gervase Peterson</strong Monica Culpepper, Ciera Eastin and Tyson — and Ciera was the first to be ousted during the finale.
My favorite part of the two-hour extravaganza was the last tribunal meeting, when the castaways confronted each other about some of the secrets they’d been keeping all season — and Monica broke down in tears.
“Have y’all never met a nice person?!” she asked her fellow competitors, who all appeared to be ganging up on her.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Tyson deserved to win Survivor: Blood Vs. Water? Drop a comment with your thoughts on the victor of season 27!
