We loved getting to know Mackenzie Douthit, Katie Yeager, Alex Sekella, and Briana DeJesus and experiencing their first year with their babies, but the girls revealed they won’t be documenting any more of their boyfriend drama or baby woes on reality TV. Are YOU shocked that the show was pulled?
Alex confirmed rumors that Teen Mom 3 is over, and even joked that the newest batch of moms didn’t bring enough drama:
Yes no more teen mom 3. Guess we weren’t enough of train wrecks for it to be interesting. America wants to watch crazies oh well #relieved

Mackenzie’s mom, Angie, tweeted her sadness at the news:
I’m very sad MTV chose to cancel. I wanted to keep sharing my faith on TV. And Mack wanted to share her struggles with diabetes. So sad…

Katie tweeted that she and her daughter are looking forward to getting out of the spotlight:
I’m grateful for this experience. Molli and I are ready to move on from this and live a normal life. Thanks for all the love and support ❤️

Briana gave her emotional send-off:
Teen mom 3 was one of the best experiences I ever had! I will never forget it!
— Dejesus, Briana. (@BrianaDejesus_) December 7, 2013
Teen Mom 3 debuted with 1.81 million viewers in August 2013, but viewership fell to 1.24 million by its final episode, according to Wet Paint. So even though WE loved the girls’ stories, looks like viewers weren’t as impressed!
“MTV will not be moving forwarding with a second season of Teen Mom 3,” MTV told HollywoodLife.com in a statement. “We’re thankful to Briana, Katie, Mackenzie, Alex and their families for sharing their stories as they navigate young parenthood and for helping to have a positive impact on the importance of teen pregnancy prevention.”
What do YOU think, HollyMoms? Are you shocked that Teen Mom 3 is cancelled?
