The ‘Fast & Furious’ actress will do battle alongside Henry Cavill & Ben Affleck!
I’m glad Gal Gadot looks good in primary colors, because she’s about to wearing a lot of them — and only them. HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site Deadline reports the Israeli beauty, whose credits include Fast & Furious, has been tapped to play Princess Diana of Themyscira (aka Wonder Woman) in the upcoming sequel to 2013’s Man of Steel.
Gal’s appearance in the Man of Steel sequel marks Wonder Woman’s first major appearance on the big screen. Despite the popularity of Lynda Carter‘s 1970s TV series about the Amazonian warrior princess, she never made the leap — or, rather, the spin — to theaters.
Director Zack Snyder released the following statement about Gal and Wonder Woman’s entrances into the franchise:
Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe,” Snyder said. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature-film incarnation of this beloved character.
We couldn’t agree more!
Batman & Superman To Clash In ‘Man Of Steel’ Sequel
Though details about the Man of Steel sequel are being kept tightly under wraps, it was announced at Comic-Con this summer that Batman (Ben Affleck) would be facing off against Superman (Henry Cavill).
Along with Gal, Ben and Henry, Batman Vs. Superman will also feature return performances from Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White).
HollywoodLifers, are you excited for Wonder Woman to join the Man of Steel sequel? And how do you feel about Gal’s casting?
