A teen suspect, reported to be a 14-year-old male, was taken into police custody after the school alerted authorities to a student with a gun at Scott High School in Toldeo, Ohio at around 9:30 a.m. local time on Dec. 2. The student reportedly was found with a pellet gun, and had barricaded himself into a classroom.
The teen was not described as an active shooter, and no students were injured by the suspect.
Lieutenant Mark King, spokesperson for the Toledo police, said authorities made contact with the student via negotiators. School officials said that the teenager will face immediate expulsion from school, according to the Toledo Blade.
“Before being taken into custody, police shot the teen in the foot with a bean bag,” reported Toledo News Now. “He was uninjured and taken into custody around 10:45 a.m.” local time.
The Toledo Police department confirmed via Twitter that the teen was in custody.
