The ‘Teen Mom 3’ star hasn’t let her type 1 diabetes stand in the way of her determination to have a healthy pregnancy, and she is inspiring other moms and women with diabetes with her dedication!
Mackenzie Douthit revealed on the Teen Mom 3 reunion special that in the past, her diabetes diagnosis has made her feel so bitter. She said she wished for just one day where she wouldn’t have to worry about her blood sugar spiraling out of control, or worry about monitoring her health. Instead of getting herself upset about an illness she can’t change, she has worked extra hard to keep her body fit through physical activity like tumbling, and now her focus is taking every precaution to make sure she is safely able to deliver her second child!
Mackenzie Douthit’s Diabetes During 2nd Pregnancy — Teen Mom Is An Inspiration
Mackenzie is six months pregnant with her second child, and she still has better abs then I’ll ever have in my entire life. If that’s not deserving of some serious respect, I don’t know what is. She used her scary childhood diagnosis as an opportunity to work out harder, eat healthier, and take care of herself!
While she can’t control actually having diabetes, she can control how she copes and keeps herself strong, and she’s doing an amazing job.
Mackenzie, 19, keeps to her schedule of monitoring her blood sugar levels and indulging in sugar-free snacks — and still manages to keep up with her energetic 2-year-old son, Gannon.
She is also very educated about her health. She knows the risks of her dangerous pregnancy, but is taking care of herself and following doctors’ orders so that she and her daughter-to-be can be as healthy as possible!
