Britney’s new album ‘Britney Jean’ may not be dropping until Nov. 29, but tracks have been slowing rolling out to give die-hard Brit-Brit fans something to look forward to during this gloomy November month. We’re already obsessed with the latest quirky track, ‘Alien!’
Britney Spears, 31, is prepping for a(nother) major comeback with her new album, Britney Jean, and a two-year Las Vegas residency that will begin in December. Her latest success is the moody, melodic, melancholy William Orbit collaboration “Alien,” which is one of the most personal songs Britney has released in years.
‘Alien’: Britney Is No Longer Alone
It’s common knowledge that Britney hasn’t had the least turbulent existence over these past few years, and “Alien” — which will open the new album — definitely acknowledges that it isn’t always easy being on top. Over some haunting, synthesized beats, Britney repeats that she’s “not alone, not alone, not alone,” feeling like an alien in her day-to-day life.
“I was lonely then, like an alien,” she sadly sings, before meeting a mysterious figure who makes her feel slightly less alone. It’s a relatively simple concept, but a beautiful song that seems perfectly tailored to Britney’s strange, undeniably isolating life.
“Alien”: Another Version Is Coming Soon
As great as “Alien” is, it isn’t the final version that will be found on “Britney Jean.” William, who also produced Madonna’s “Ray of Light,” tweeted that a slightly tweaked version will appear on the album. We love it as is, but still can’t wait to hear “Alien 2.0.”
He tweeted: “It’s the wrong version of ‘Alien’ that’s out there. Right song, but had wrong chorus notes, (now fixed) on THE version.”
What do you think of “Alien”, HollywoodLifers?
