‘X Factor’ Recap — Fifth Harmony Stuns With ‘Me & My Girls’

Thu, November 14, 2013 9:59pm EST by 15 Comments

Sadly, two acts were eliminated tonight — but luckily we saw amazing performances from Selena Gomez and Fifth Harmony to cheer us up! Read on for more details.

The Nov. 14 episode was a real nail-biter, since it was the X Factor‘s first Elimination Thursday. Were you upset about the two acts that were cut, HollywoodLifers?

Selena Gomez & Fifth Harmony Perform On The ‘X Factor’

There’s nothing like fun performances from pop stars to get everyone in a true X Factor mood!

Selena Gomez21, graced viewers with her presence, dressed in a slinky black outfit, with black boots to match. She surrounded herself with back-up dancers for an electrifying performance of her chart-topping smash, “Slow Down.” With her energy and stage presence, we’re thinking Selena could teach the current crop of contestants a thing or two about having the “x” factor.

Fifth Harmony also performed their hit single, “Me and My Girls,” and started the song in their colorful pajamas like they were at a sleepover — and then slinkily revealed their performance costumes underneath! The crowd went absolutely wild for them and their energetic, candy-coated performance.

The top 12 performers also sang “Perfect Day” as a tribute to Lou Reed, the late Velvet Underground guitarist — but things weren’t all perfect, since two acts had to get eliminated!

‘X Factor': Two Acts Eliminated

Early in the show, Sweet Suspense was unfortunately eliminated after giving a somewhat clumsy — but cute — rendition of “Mickey” on Nov. 13.

Nine acts were sent to the safe zone, and included: Carlito Olivero, Josh Levi, Rion Paige, Jeff Gutt, Restless Road, Tim Olstad, Ellona Santiago, Lillie McCloud, and Alex & Sierra.

The bottom two acts were Khaya Cohen and Rachel Potter, who had to literally sing for their survival on the show. Khaya sang a perfect (and fitting) rendition of “Don’t Give Up On Me,” and Rachel sang “From This Moment On.”

Kelly Rowland voted to send Khaya home, while Paulina RubioSimon Cowell and Demi Lovato voted to send Rachel home. Majority ruled, and Rachel was the second act eliminated.

Are YOU upset that Sweet Suspense and Rachel got eliminated, HollywoodLifers? Vote and let us know!

Wow I love Demi but she was very rude to Mario …”CAN YOU LET HER TALK!” He was politely and graciously asking Kelly for an answer (like 3 times!). It’s his job. Also, very unprofessional of them to question America’s decision. Kelly asking the voters to “get it together” is insulting, as if we are stupid only because we’re not voting for their acts. This is mostly a popularity contest from now on and if viewers don’t take their comments as judges seriously is because of the way these two so immaturely act. They should respect the host, the viewers and maybe they will earn the respect of the audience. Otherwise their self-centered, stuck up attitudes will cost them their contestants , no matter how talented they are.

I couldn’t believe how disrespectful the judges were towards each other. They keep shushing each other and telling each other to shut up. When Simon tries to tell his opinion (which he has a right to like everybody.) they constantly interrupt him. It’s annoying. They were even rude to Mario tonight. Unbelievable. I’m so disappointed in Kelly. I thought she was more mature.

I don’t get why 5H fans think fifth harmony is the most successful act from x factor usa. 1) Epic didn’t have faith in them so they released an EP. 2) Fifth Harmony sold 28,000 copies first week @#6 on bb chart. last week they dropped to #80 with 3-4000 copies. This week its 156 on billboard. with under 500 copies sold. 3) Emblem3 outsold fifth harmony by 18,000 copies debut week (1st week) .Don’t make the excuse that 5H is at a bad label. 5H is booked for 18 jingle balls, been on the today show twice, had a mall tour, was on tour with Cher Lloyd, is Disney’s next big thing, Vevo lift artist, is going on tour with Demi Lovato, was on mtv and VH1 many times, arsenio hall, the x factor stage, kelly and michael, perez hilton, mtv awards, American Music Awards Pre-show, Radio shows across the U.S.. That’s a lot of promotion. more promo than all x factor u.s. acts combined. if you harmonizers are upset by Fifth Harmony’s failure to be Destiny’s Child or PCD or TLC, blame the American people. they clearly don’t like 5H or their music. most of you harmonizers are from outside the U.S. anyway. 33,000 copies of the EP divided by 5 girls =less than 1,000.00.

Apparently Alessandra is completely ignorant about the recording/entertainment industry. BUT, not knowing what she is talking about did not stop her from posting such a idiotic, asinine statement !

Emblem3 “Chloe” sold for 2 weeks only 35k,and Fifth Harmony’s “Miss Movin On” sold is 37K for 1 WEEK! And Thats an EP you cant compare EP with Full Album…and still 5H’s EP was #6 on Billboard 200 AND E3 was #7 with full album…and american people love them and the whole world too..bye
