Alec’s stalker, Genevieve Sabourin, was found guilty of stalking him in a NYC court on Nov. 14 — and received a contempt order on top of her jail sentence because of outbursts she made in court! Read on for more details.
Genevieve Sabourin, 41, has been stalking Alec Baldwin, 55, for nearly two years — and tried to get his attention in many ways, including reportedly leaving him 30 voicemails a night and attending yoga classes instructed by his wife, and then-girlfriend, Hilaria Baldwin.
Alec Baldwin: Stalker Genevieve Sabourin Found Guilty Of Stalking On Five Counts
Genevieve was declared guilty of stalking Alec after a three-day trial, ruled Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Robert Mandelbaum.
“You had no right to continue communications or pursue contact you knew to be unwanted and unwelcome,” he said, according to the NY Daily News. “Your relentless and escalating campaign of threats and in-person appearances in private spaces served at a minimum to harass, annoy and alarm Mr. Baldwin.”
Genevieve cried as her sentence was announced, reports TMZ. She was put on trial for stalking and harassing Alec while trying to profess her love for him. She was originally arrested in April of 2012 for showing up at his NYC apartment.
“I haven’t done anything wrong, and I’m innocent, so that’s what I have to say,” Genevieve said. “You’re doing a mistake right now.”
She was sentenced to 180 days in jail, plus an extra 30 days for a contempt order for her wild outbursts during the trail, totaling 210 days. Genevieve’s outbursts included statement that she slept with Alec and accused him of lying about the romance she thought they had.
Alec Baldwin’s Stalker Left Him 30 Voicemails A Night
Genevieve and Alec went to dinner in NYC in 2010, which Alec said was just to talk about her acting career. She called it a romantic evening where they had sex.
“I make the best omelets in the world and I’d be happy to make you omelets every morning for the rest of your life,” she said he said the next day, CBS reported.
She also left him 30 voicemails a night and attended yoga classes instructed by Hilaria and knew where his Hamptons home was, too. She pursued him multiple other times in NYC.
The judge also issued a restraining order against Genevieve, so she can’t contact Alec or Hilaria for five years. The couple tied the knot in June of 2012 and have a three-month-old daughter, Carmen.
