It’s common knowledge by now that Miley Cyrus‘s hit “Wrecking Ball” was written about her ex Liam Hemsworth, so we can’t blame her for getting emotional when she sang her latest hit at the MTV EMAs. With nothing but simple accompaniment and clips from the “Wrecking Ball” video as back-up, Miley proved that she doesn’t need the bells and whistles to bring the house down. Check out the video below!
You can never know what someone is truly thinking onstage, but Miley sure has us wondering why she was tearing up during her beautifully sung performance. With that much talent, who needs to cry?
Miley ran teary, Sinead O’Connor-esque clips from her now infamous “Wrecking Ball” video on loop in the background as she triumphantly stood center stage, clad in a skimpy, crotch-baring little number that will definitely have tongues wagging. But no matter what they say, Miley will have the last laugh — she looked amazing and sang like a rock star in a memorable performance.
Of course, Miley couldn’t go all the way to Europe without causing a little bit of scandal. Her earlier performance of “We Can’t Stop” featured a space-dress clad Miley twerking with a little person, which will surely lead to a front-page headline or ten thousand.
But what did you think, HollywoodLifers? Did you enjoy “Wrecking Ball?” Which performance did you like better? Vote in our poll and defend your choice in the comments!
