Selena is fighting back once again after Lorde called her ‘Come and Get It’ song ‘anti-feminist.’ Sel has news for you, Lorde — ‘not supporting other women’ is NOT feminism!
Selena Gomez isn’t just going to stand by and let Lorde diss her! After the talented 17-year-old artist accused Selena of sending a bad message to young women with her song “Come and Get It,” Sel has vowed never to cover Lorde’s hit song “Royals” in concert again. Read on for more details.
Selena Gomez Disses Lorde For Picking Catfights In New Interview
Selena shared her thoughts about the outspoken “Royals” singer’s rude remarks in a new interview with Flaunt magazine, the UK’s Daily Mail reports.
“That’s not feminism. [Lorde is] not supporting other women. That’s my honest opinion, that’s what I would say to her if I saw her,” Selena says. “I actually covered her song in all of my shows that I’ve done so far. I’m not sure if I’m going to continue that.”
Selena Gomez Responds To Lorde’s Diss
Lorde has burned at a ton of hot artists lately, but her diss to Selena seemed like the worst one.
“I love pop music on a sonic level,” she said in an interview. “But I’m a feminist and the theme of her song [Come & Get It] is, ‘When you’re ready come and get it from me.’ I’m sick of women being portrayed this way.”
Selena responded to Lorde’s diss during a radio interview in Boston, saying:
There’s two different kinds of criticism. There’s the people that hide behind a computer and want to say endless amount of things but never say it to your face, and then obviously there are the vocal ones. I appreciate everybody’s opinion, especially because I’ve covered her music lots of times. I think she is super talented and I think it’s awesome. But I think at the same time that feminism and that specific thing is very sensitive because in my opinion it’s not feminism if you’re tearing down another artist. So that’s the only thing that I feel but you know, she’s young, she’s got so much talent, she’s gonna take over, she gets it, so I don’t take it to heart.
We love how mature Selena is!
