Miranda won her FOURTH straight Female Vocalist of the Year award at the CMA Awards on Nov. 6, but instead of gloating, the country singer used her acceptance speech to honor Taylor, Carrie Underwood, and the other female nominees.
At this point, Miranda Lambert is a pro at accepting the CMA Award for Female Vocalist of the Year. And she proved it on Nov. 6 when she took the stage after winning her fourth one in a row, giving a genuine, modest, heart-warming acceptance speech.
Miranda Lambert Praises Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood & More
Looking absolutely fabulous and trim in a short, embellished black dress, Miranda also looked totally stunned to hear her name called. And taking the stage with (happy) tears in her eyes, the singer used the big win to talk about her fellow nominees instead of herself.
Miranda continued to praise her peers. She could barely put her admiration of Kelly Clarkson into words, saying only, “Kelly, really!?” And then to Carrie Underwood she gushed, “Your performance blew me away tonight.” And finally she honored newcomer Kacey Musgraves, saying, “Congratulations on the New Artist [Award]. That was awesome. These Texas girls gotta stick together.”
Miranda Lambert Thanks Blake Shelton At CMA Awards
And no, of course Miranda didn’t forget to thank her amazing husband, Blake Shelton, who went home with the Male Vocalist of the Year award. “Thanks for putting up with my crap,” she eloquently told him.
Miranda’s obviously talented — she has four CMA Awards to prove that — but this acceptance speech is why we really love her. Congratulations, Miranda!
