One Directioner Zayn has a tough decision to make. With his marriage to Perrie Edwards on the horizon, poor Zayn has to choose between his four bandmates when it comes to the obviously crucial decision of who is going to be his best man. And now, his ‘X Factor’ mentor Simon has come out with his own message for Zayn: pick me!
Simon Cowell, 54, is an undeniably busy man. With a baby on the way and several X Factor groups to mentor, a former contestant’s wedding should be the last thing on his mind. But when HollywoodLife.com chatted with Simon at The X Factor Top 12 Party at Los Angeles’ SLS Hotel, he was more than happy to deliver a message to Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards, both 20. Read more to find out what he had to say!
Simon Cowell: Pick Me, Zayn!
All 1-D fans know they have Simon to thank for bringing the boys together. One Direction is the most famous act to come out of Simon’s international hit competition show, meaning the boys most definitely owe the scowl-y Brit a favor or two. So should Zayn show some respect by popping the other question to Simon? HollywoodLife.com asked Simon if he’d be offended if he wasn’t picked, and he was more than happy to answer: “Now that you mention it, yes.”
Of course Simon was joking, and fully realizes that the true battle is between Zayn’s bandmates.
“So I’m probably going to be very disappointed,” he continued with a laugh. (Hey, don’t rule yourself out just yet, Simon!)
Zayn & Perrie’s Giant Wedding
Even if he doesn’t get the best man gig, one would seriously hope that Simon is at least invited to the big event. Perrie recently told The Sun that she wanted a small wedding, but her gaggle of girlfriends and bandmates has made that dream impossible.
“I actually wanted to have quite a small wedding, but then all the girls in my family are desperate to come and would like to be bridesmaids, too,” Perrie said. “It’s going to be like the movie 27 Dresses where the bride has like a billion bridesmaids.”
Maybe Simon could nab a spot on Perrie’s side of the aisle? He’d surely look great in a dress!
