Danielle tells HollywoodLife.com that the Oct. 28 episode will give fans a ‘true understanding of why Davina is the way she is.’
Teen-witch Davina (Danielle Campbell) currently holds the titles of smallest, most powerful and most mysterious character on The Originals — but at least that last one will soon fade away, as the Oct. 28 episode answers pretty much any question you could possibly have about Davina’s backstory. HollywoodLife.com chatted with Davina about the eye-opening hour, as well as Davina’s future with Tim (Shane Coffey) and her brewing war with the witches. (Pun intended.)

>> You must be having so much fun playing Davina. She has so many layers!
Oh my gosh, I love playing her. I think it’s cool because, as an actor, it’s nice to be challenged. She’s always struggling with having so much power as a witch, but also wanting to be a normal teenage girl. On last week’s episode, you got to see her love interest, and I think that showed everyone her human side. We want everyone to understand she’s not just this evil little girl; she’s like that for a reason. You’ll get to see more of her backstory on this week’s episode.
>> I liked getting to see her romantic side. Will we be seeing more of Tim?
You will see more of Tim! I’m actually shooting something with him this coming week.
>> Good! I love Tim and his fiddle. Is that a fiddle? A violin?
[Laughs] I don’t know! I was having this conversation earlier, because half the time it’s called a fiddle, and half the time it’s called a violin. So, I have no idea.
>> Either way, that scene was so cool when Davina finally showed Klaus what she was made of.
It was so intense. You know, in the swamp, those fan boats with the ginormous fans on the back? We had two of those huge fans, and they could knock you over. And they were on their slowest speed to make all that paper fly!
>> Will we be getting more intense scenes from Davina tomorrow night?
Totally! And I think you get a better feel for the witches; you see how this coven works. [The episode] gives everyone a true understanding of why Davina is the way she is, and why she has so much hatred towards the other witches who are supposedly her family. Instead of people thinking Davina’s evil, they’re going to feel for her. They’re going to hope she gets what she wants.
>> What about with Sophie, specifically? Lots of friction?
There’s definitely friction in the future. And another thing is that — I won’t say what it is — we want different things, ultimately. She wants one thing and I want another, so we do not get along, even on the episode we’re filming right now.
>> Generally speaking, what are you excited for fans to see?
The stakes keeping getting higher with each episode, and at one point there’s always that time when things get messy and all hell breaks loose. This next episode we’re about to film is definitely one of those episodes. The whole season is getting really good.
