Get excited, TLC fans! The band’s new album ’20’ dropped on Oct. 15, celebrating their 20 year anniversary as a band, and they promoted it with their first live performance in eight years on ‘Good Morning America!’
This is an epic moment for TLC! Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas performed their first single off their new album, as well as two classic hits on Good Morning America. They also spilled on their new biopic, Crazy Sexy Cool, and the “strange” feeling they felt when seeing their late bandmate, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes being portrayed on screen.
TLC Reunite, Promote Biopic ‘Crazy Sexy Cool’
Both T-Box and Chilli appeared on GMA on Oct. 15 to talk all things TLC, along with the stars of their biopic, Crazy Sexy Cool, that will air on VH1 on October 21.
T-Boz and Chilli were joined by Lil Mama, who plays the role of the Left Eye, Drew Sidora, who portrays T-Boz and Keke Palmer, who plays Chilli.
T-Boz admitted in the interview that when they saw Lil Mama audition for the part of their late bandmate, who passed away in 2002 after a car accident, it was definitely a weird feeling.
“It was strange for us sometimes, it kinda freaked us out a bit!” she said in the interview. Lil Mama added in that she was honored to play the role and that it was a really fun experience for her.
TLC Perform New Song & Classics On ‘GMA’
After the interview, T-Boz and Chilli took to the stage to sing their new single, “Meant To Be,” along with two show-stopping classics, “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs.”
“Meant To Be” was co-writted by Ne-Yo and is the band’s first single off their new album, 20, which celebrates their 20 years as a band. The album will combine both new songs and old, including the two hits they performed on GMA as well as “Creep” and “Unpretty.”
It also includes “Posh Life,” a new song written by Dallas Austin and Lady Gaga!
