Chief Keef was sentenced to 20 days in jail, after a hearing at the Skokie Courthourse in Illinois. He even posted a photo on his Instagram outside the court house revealing that he had turned himself in.
After rapper, Chief Keef was arrested for speeding in May, he was instructed to undergo random drug testing. However, a test came back positive for marijuana, and on Oct. 15, the 18-year-old turned himself in and will now have to do time behind bars.
Chief Keef Sentenced To 20 Days In Jail
Chief Keef — whose real name is Keith Cozart — was originally sentenced to 10 days, Sophie Ansari, a spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff’s office told the Chicago Tribune. The reason it is now 20 is unknown.
“Outside The Court House Turnin My Self In,” he captioned an Instagram pic along with multiple profanities — he doesn’t appear to be too happy about the sentencing.
On May 28, the rapper was clocked going 110mph in a 55mph zone on the Edens Expressway at Winnetka Road in Chicago, and while he plead guilty to the speeding ticket, he was instructed to also undergo random drug testing as part of his 18-month probation.
TMZ has reported that due to overcrowding, he may not serve the full 20 days. HollywoodLife.com has reached out to the authorities for comment.
Chief Keef’s Messy Legal Past
During 2013, Chief Keef has gotten into a great deal of trouble.
On January 15, he entered Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles, where he served 60 days of juvenile detention after violating his probation for pointing a gun at Chicago police.
In September 2013, he failed to pay child support and was supposed to appear in court before a judge. His next due date in court is Oct. 21, and a warrant for his arrest is possible if he does not show.
