Money problems, shady phone calls, and the silent treatment. The ‘Teen Mom 3’ girls sift through all of them to get to a place where they can feel confident in their decisions. Find out what happened on the Oct. 14 episode, right here.
“Don’t lie to me.” The episode’s title says it all: the girls just can’t take the lies anymore. In their own ways, they’re finally standing up for themselves to get to the truth. Mackenzie Douthit finally confronts Josh McKee about why he hasn’t been around or answering her phone calls — and she finds out that he’s been lying to her about where he’s been.
Mackenzie Douthit Confronts Josh McKee About Lying
Mackenzie is having trouble adjusting to Josh’s bull riding schedule — and they aren’t getting along anyway. Mackenzie’s mom convinces her to ask Josh’s trainer to let her go to one of his practices, so that they can spend time together and support Josh’s passion — and let Gannon have some time with his dad. When Mackenzie’s mom calls Josh’s trainer, he says that he hasn’t seen Josh at practice in quite some time, and he didn’t even see the passion and drive out of him that would have turned him into a top-notch rider. When Mackenzie finds out that Josh has been lying about where he has been just to get time alone away from her, she wants to go confront him.
Mackenzie and her mom go to Josh’s house to find him sleeping. “Did you lie to me about going to Les’?” Mackenzie asks about the trainer. Josh specifically says that Josh hasn’t been there. When Josh realizes that he’s been caught, he says it’s pointless to fight.
“Do you just want to be done with me forever?” Mackenzie asked Josh flat out. “I just want some time to figure things out,” Josh tells her.
Josh gets angry and emotional when he tells his friends that acting like that towards Mackenzie breaks his heart. Mackenzie doesn’t know if she still wants a family with Josh — and realizes that he probably doesn’t think she can get someone else. In a heartbreaking moment, she takes her engagement ring off.
Alex Sekella Fights With Her Family Over Lost Dance Costumes
Alex Sekella has barely talked to Matt McCann since his drug overdose, and she busied herself with school work and extra hours teaching at the dance studio to get her group ready for a dance competition– the first she’s participating in since having her daughter Arabella. While practicing the dance routine with her friend, she leaves Arabella on the chair. In one split second, Arabella falls off the chair and hits her head — Alex realizes that she can’t let her baby out of her sight for an instant. When the costumes for her dance recital goes missing, she blames her family for losing them, or her mom for throwing them out — and knows that now she will have to pay for them out of her hard-earned money.
Alex’s family wants to help her control her anger and stress — but she finds that avoiding the people that make her angry are how she wants to deal with it. Alex makes up with her mom in time for her dance competition, so she focuses all her energy into the performance — and they take home second place.
Katie Yeager Fights With Joey Maes On Her Birthday Trip
Katie Yeager is celebrating her 19th birthday, and she’s on her summer break from college. She wants to use the opportunity to go to Salt Lake City with Joey Maes and go wedding dress shopping. Joey thinks it’s dumb that she’s thinking wedding dresses when they’re not even actively planning their wedding. They are barely out of the driveway on their trip before they’re fighting about how much money Joey is spending. Joey says that no matter how hard he works, they will always have money problems and will always fight about it. They argue the entire trip to Salt Lake City, sucking the fun out of potentially planning for their wedding.
Katie’s mom tells her that she shouldn’t put up with the way Joey speaks to her, but Katie thinks he’s her only option. “If I’m not with Joey, I’m going to be alone for the rest of my life,” Katie tells her mom. “Who wants a fat stretch-marked b*tch with a baby?” Katie continues.
The pair try to enjoy their trip by taking Molli sightseeing — and they have such a good time that they end up wedding dress shopping as planned. Katie even gets Joey to try on a tux — even though it takes some convincing to get him to take off his signature baseball cap
Katie also wanted to stop by the college she wanted to go to in Salt Lake City, but Joey just wanted to have fun. On the way home, the couple is back to fighting about money, and how much a wedding will cost them. Katie is okay with doing a simple courthouse wedding, but not if they’re fighting. Joey agrees — and tells her to move out and get out of his life, “fast.”
Briana DeJesus Weighs Her Birth Control Options
Briana DeJesus talks to her sister Brittany about birth control — and reveals that she’s getting back on the pill and staying on it no matter what. But Brittany is going out with guys and having fun, and it makes Briana start thinking about dating again. The sisters go shopping and Briana really wants to pick up condoms as a backup — even though it’s really embarrassing, they both want to be prepared. When Briana goes to the doctor to talk about birth control, Brittany doesn’t really want to go along, but of course Briana doesn’t want to go alone so Brittany helps out. When the girls see the tools the doctor will use for their pap smears, they get scared and don’t want to do it. Briana goes through with it because she really wants an IUD for birth control — and she finds that it’s really not that bad.
When Briana pushes Brittany about why she didn’t get checked at the doctor, Brittany explains that it brought back bad memories of when she was there to have her abortion. Brittany gets really emotional remembering her experience, especially when she sees how big a part she has become in her niece Nova‘s life.
