The Minnesota Vikings player returned to the team’s practice on Oct. 11, after missing a practice when he went to his son’s side after he was horrible beating on Oct. 9. He spoke out in a press conference to thank fans for their support — and asset that he will ‘definitely’ be playing in the Vikings’ next game.
Adrian Peterson‘s 2-year-old son was brutally beaten on Oct. 9 and remains in critical condition in a Sioux Falls, South Dakota hospital. The footballer shared how he has been coping with this family tragedy in an Oct. 11 team press conference, stating “I’m built tough.”
Adrian Peterson’s Son In Critical Condition — Player Speaks Out
Adrian returned to football practice on Oct. 11, after missing the Oct. 10 practice for a family emergency. After the practice, Adrian held a press conference to speak out about his situation.
“I really appreciate all the support I’ve been receiving from the fans,” he said. “This is a private matter … so please just respect my privacy about the situation.”
“I plan on playing Sunday,” he said of the Oct. 13 game against the Panthers before clarifying, “I will be playing Sunday.” “I’m ready to roll, focus.”
“Football is always something I fall back on, it’s gotten me through tough times,” Adrian shared. “Just being around the guys, you know, that’s what I need in my life. The guys support me, and just being able to go out and play this game I love … the things that I go through, it helps me play this game to a different level. I’m able to release a lot of my stress.”
“The one thing that I always bounce back to is the good Lord never gives you more than you can bear, than you can handle,” Adrian shared. “I’m built tough.”
“I will be playing Sunday, without a doubt,” he asserted.

Adrian said that he will play in the Oct. 13 game against the Panthers. The coach spoke out saying that it is Adrian’s personal decision to play in the game.

Adrian Peterson’s Son Attacked
Adrian’s son was rushed to the hospital on Oct. 9 after sustaining horrible injuries in a brutal attack. “Emergency responders responded to a call at about 5:45 PM on Wednesday [Oct. 9],” Sioux Falls police told HollywoodLife.com. “The initial call was made for medical attention, the caller said that a 2-year-old was choking. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the child unresponsive.”
Upon investigation, “medical staff found that the injuries were not consistent with choking, but rather with head injuries, consistent with abuse,” Joseph Robert Patterson, 27, arrested on two counts: aggravated battery of an infant, aggravated assault.
The 2-year-old boy remains in critical condition in the hospital, Sioux Falls Police Department told HollywoodLife.com on Oct. 11 at 1:20 p.m. EST.
