Cara’s going from the runway to the red carpet in no time! The supermodel has reportedly landed a lead role in the film based on the real-life events of the Amanda Knox case.

Cara Delevingne is clearly in demand, and apparently it isn’t just the fashion world that’s smitten with the supermodel! The 21-year-old is heading to Hollywood — and it won’t be the first time she lit up the big screen. Cara, who played Princess Sorokina in the 2012 film Anna Karenina, has reportedly landed a leading role in The Face Of An Angel, a movie based on the Amanda Knox story.

Cara Delevingne — Amanda Knox Movie Role, All The Details:

According to a report in the Mirror, “It doesn’t look like Cara will be playing Foxy Knoxy but she will have a major role, as the director wants to focus on events surrounding the trial and the people whose lives have been affected by it.”

Signing on to the project is obviously a very big deal for the supermodel. “Getting Cara is a real coup for the film but is also brilliant for her career. It proves she’s an in-demand actress and will help to boost her career Stateside,” the source goes on to say. “She has been thinking about relocating there and, with big film offers coming in, it’s looking likely movies will soon be Cara’s main focus.”

Considering that Cara practically skipped all of New York Fashion Week, (flying in only to walk in the Marc Jacobs show on the closing day), it comes as no surprise that she wants to switch gears and take the leap from the catwalk to the big screen — and this buzzed-about film is just the thing that could do it!

Directed by Michael Winterbottom, the movie focuses around a troubled filmmaker, (played by Rush star Daniel Bruhl), who is in the midst of researching the murder trial in Italy. It chronicles the filmmaker’s efforts to reconnect with his own daughter after seeing the way the case was portrayed by the media. The film is based on the real-life events of the murder of 21-year-old British exchange student Meredith Kercher.

Cara has been taking the appropriate steps to transition her career. In fact, in September 2013 she signed on with major LA agency William Morris and already has roles lined up! She just finished shooting Kids in Love, a Brit flick about decadent rich kids, and is gearing up to shoot London Fields alongside Billy Bob Thornton and Amber Heard.

The Face of an Angel stars shooting in Siena and Rome in November, right after Cara finishes working on London Fields.

What do you think of Cara’s latest project? Are you excited to see her in the Amanda Knox movie?
