We weren’t surprised when Lamar’s reported Oct. 9 NYC trip to meet with basketball execs was allegedly canceled due to his reported drug addiction. HollywoodLife.com not only has the EXCLUSIVE details on who wanted him to go — but we also know if he has a shot at playing basketball this season!
Once an asset to the NBA, Lamar Odom is now considered a liability. After his reported business trip to meet about the upcoming basketball season got allegedly canceled, it sadly looks like the trip was planned in the first place just to boost his depleting ego. Read on for all our EXCLUSIVE details!
Lamar Odom’s Basketball Career Trip To NYC Canceled
Lamar tested negative for blood and urine tests for drugs on Oct. 9, TMZ reported — and planned on bringing the results with him on a hastily-planned trip to NYC.
Lamar had reportedly been in talks with executives, and wanted to meet with them to potentially make a deal — and to visit with family there to escape the “negative energy” surrounding him in LA.
However, the trip was canceled after Lamar got nervous about his plans leaking, TMZ alleges in a new report. According to our EXCLUSIVE details, though — the trip was planned as a favor to Lamar!
“The entire visit to NYC and his chances to actually get a job with the NBA is mostly show then anything. His agent is trying to get him conversations with teams to make it look like he is sought after, to make him feel good. His agent has players that teams actually want and they are speaking with Lamar as a favor,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “There is a reason ESPN and other sports sources and websites are not talking about Lamar joining the NBA, because it is currently not a reality.”
Ouch! Looks like finding out that his trip was all for show was the real reason he backed out!
Is there any hope at all for Lamar to make a basketball comeback?
Lamar Odom’s Basketball Comeback — Will It Happen?
We told you Lamar has been plotting to get sober and revive his basketball career just in time for the upcoming season — but, sadly, it doesn’t look like it will become a reality.
“This news all conveniently showed itself when talk turned more on the negative with Kris Jenner and Bruce Jenner‘s marriage problems. Anytime anyone in the Kardashian family is going through issues, a positive story presents itself out of nowhere. It’s all very staged. Lamar Odom is on drugs and teams don’t want to make that financial commitment to a drug addict unless he is completely sober and NBA-ready — which isn’t the case with Lamar, at this time,” our source reveals.
It’s hard to think that any team in the NBA would have wanted to meet with Lamar on a business trip and sign him after everything he’s been publicly going through lately.
His best bet now is to just go to rehab for his alleged drug abuse and cheating allegations, and then begin to repair his marriage to Khloe Kardashian — before it’s too late.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Should Lamar focus on pursuing his career in the NBA or should he focus on getting help? Sound off below!
