It wasn’t long ago that Chris was throwing shade — and bottles — in Drake’s direction but things have changed. Last week Chris dropped major hints that he was ready to hit the studio with Drake and now we know why!
Drake‘s new album, Nothing Was The Same, is topping the Billboard charts, and his former rival Chris Brown is taking notice. Chris has been playing Drake’s new album and he’s super impressed with it — so impressed, in fact, that he would even be “open to” recording with Drake, a source tells HollywoodLife.com. Read on for all the EXCLUSIVE Details!
Chris Brown On Drake’s New Album — Breezy Loves It & Wants To Record With Rival
When Chris, 24, posted an old video of himself and Drake, 26, laughing in a recording studio, we started to wonder if he was angling for a collaboration with his former nemesis — and it turns out we were right!
Chris is totally down to work with Drake, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
“He’s open to that idea. Look, he bumps Nothing Was The Same. It’s a hot album and it’s doing well and he’s got respect for Drake,” the source reveals. “He’s all about coming out with banging new music and making history, and he’s not opposed to that idea. But now, you know, he’s trying to get X out there and that’s all on his agenda.”
It sounds like there’s still some healthy competition between the two entertainers, but we would love to see them team up when the time is right!
Chris Brown & Drake — Friends Again!
Where’s the beef? It was just over a year ago that Chris and Drake got into a vicious nightclub brawl at WIP in NYC. And the fight — which was reportedly over Rihanna — wasn’t the only evidence of their feud. Chris wrote diss songs aimed at Drake and even screamed out “F**k Drake” at a Hollywood nightclub in March.
But then he and Drake were seen laughing and drinking together backstage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sept. 21.
HollywoodLife.com also EXCLUSIVELY reported on Sept. 26 that their feud was over. “He and Drake ain’t got no more issues. They’re cool. They’re not trying be at war anymore — it’s about squashing all that drama and making money and shelling out hits,” a source told us.
This is certainly a much better outcome than most hip-hop feuds have! We’re so impressed by Chris and Drake’s maturity and we can’t wait to hear what they come up with in the studio!
Tell us, HollywoodLifers, are you excited to hear Chris and Drake collaborate?
