The “Four Chair Challenge” is very similar to musical chairs — except way more excruciating and emotional. It pained us every time someone got kicked out of their seat, but there are now officially four gals going to the live shows in Demi Lovato‘s Girls group! Do you agree with the choices, HollywoodLifers?
The competition was stiff in the Girls group, consisting of ladies who can mostly belt it out!
Khaya Cohen, 15, sang “Locked Out Of Heaven,” — and seriously, what is it with contestants slowing down songs lately? Unless it’s a perfect arrangement with the right tone, it’s a risky bet — but she made it!
Rion Paige, 13, gave what I thought to be an amazing performance, singing “I Won’t Let Go.” Sometimes country songs are a little hard to nail — but she reminded me a little of Carrie Underwood and Faith Hill — class and a beautiful voice combined!
Danielle Geimer, 15, was the one who blew me away the most, with “Georgia On My Mind” — and had the judges in shock. She sang it perfectly and clearly. Some could say it was safe, but I thought it showed her range perfectly.
Ellona Santiago, 17, was praised by Simon Cowell and Paulina Rubio — and Kelly even called her a beast! But Demi wasn’t totally on board with her impressive rendition of “Clarity” — and it wasn’t until Ellona started begging and the crowd went wild that she said yes!
These four also made it to the Over 25 group live shows, carrying over from Kelly Rowland‘s group last night:
James Kenney, 36 “Lean On Me”
Jeff Gutt, 37 “Amazing Grace”
Lillie McCloud, 54 “A House Is Not a Home”
Rachel Potter, 29 “Irreplaceable”
I can already see a total showdown between powerhouses Danielle and Lillie! A grandma versus a teenager who both sing beautifully — love it!
With choosing contestants to potentially win also sadly entails sending people home. These contestants had to say goodbye tonight:
Bree Randall, 20 “Glad You Came”
Jamie Pineda, 24 “Don’t Speak”
Ashly Williams, 24 “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”
Simone Torres, 19 “A Change Is Gonna Come”
Rylie Brown, 16 “Angels”
Primrose Martin, 20 “Blame It on the Boogie”
