A female suspect was been taken under custody, and now is reportedly dead after trying to run her vehicle into the gates of the White House. She was chased and hit by Secret Service, and exchanged shots with police outside of the Capitol, NBC News reports.
Capitol Police issued a Shelter In Place order after the reports of shots being fired nearby. It was lifted at approximately 3:00 PM. There is now a report that the suspect is dead, according to Bloomberg. Congressmen and Senators have been tweeting reactions and reports.
