As Miley’s release date for ‘Bangerz’ nears, yet another preview track from the album has hit the internet. Is this one about the good times Miley and Liam had before they fell apart? Listen below and tell us what you think!
The more we get a taste of Miley Cyrus’ upcoming album Bangerz (out on Oct. 4), the more we think it’s going to be an album for the ages. Another song snippet, this time for “Adore You,” dropped on Sept. 28 and it may be Miley’s most emotional track yet.
Miley Cyrus: Another New Song Preview Released
Yep, even more intense than “Wrecking Ball.”
The 30-second snippet reveals that “Adore You” is a smooth, slow-churning ballad with a bit of an ethereal island vibe. Miley’s voice sounds outstanding and the passion she brings to the song is tangible and unparalleled.
Miley Cyrus’ ‘Adore You’: Is She Singing About Liam Hemsworth?
But it’s the songs’ lyrics that really have our attention. In the sample, Miley can be heard singing:
Are you listening?
When you say you love me
No, I love you more
When you say you need me
No, I need you more
The lyrics — and the song title — on the surface just seem like your standard love song professions. But knowing what we know about Miley and Liam Hemsworth, it’s clear they go much deeper than that. Miley’s responses that she “loves” and “needs” whomever she’s singing about (come on, we all know it’s Liam) come off as more of a complaint than a profession of devotion.
Miley is lamenting that her man isn’t head over heels — insane in love — the way she is. And that’s probably exactly the way she was feeling with Liam towards the end, when a source close to her told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that “it’s Miley that put in most of the effort to keep them together.”
Liam loved Miley, but maybe he didn’t love her enough. Is that what Miley’s trying to say in “Adore You,” HollywoodLifers? Listen below and tell us what you think!
