ABC’s big-budget, big-action series premieres Sept. 24 at 8 p.m.! Get the scoop on your new fall addiction.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ranked highly on HollywoodLife.com‘s list of 10 must-see new fall shows, and tonight, you’re about to find out why! ABC’s new drama follows Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team of investigators as they look into highly-classified — and highly strange — cases, all leading to the discovery of new “superhuman” people in our world.
Agent Coulson is the only character from The Avengers to appear regularly on the show — yes, I know he died in the movie, but that’s explained pretty quickly on the pilot — but that doesn’t make S.H.I.E.L.D. any less of a delight for Marvel comic fans. (Besides, it’s not like executive producer Joss Whedon has ruled out the possibility of familiar Marvel faces eventually paying the show a visit!)
Critics Love ‘Agents Of Shield’
But we’re not the only ones singing S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s praises.
Comparing the ABC drama to the big-screen Avengers, the Los Angeles Times calls “the television series just as good, in its own way, as the film franchise.”
And if you don’t love S.H.I.E.L.D. right away, we urge you to stick with it. Here’s why, according to A.V. Club:
The idea of a superhero procedural is a good one, and there are enough fun and funny moments in the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot to suggest the kind of show that will settle into a groove with time.
Consider us already settled!
