It’s been a rough season of Big Brother — certainly one of the most controversial, given all the racism and homophobia in the house — and the whole thing finally came to an end Sept. 20, as host Julie Chen revealed the outcome of the final votes.
‘Big Brother’ 15 Winner Revealed
And the winner is… Andy Herren!
Not only was this a huge step for Andys everywhere — I’m very proud of my namesake, thank you very much — but it’s also a major milestone for Big Brother, as Chicago-native Andy is the first openly gay winner in BB history!
Andy’s final victory came by a vote of 7 to 2; the only contestants who didn’t vote for him were Aaryn Gries, 22, and Judd Daugherty, 26. (But, honestly, are you surprised?)
Andy Herren Talks About Winning ‘Big Brother’
Andy, who teaches public speaking at a college outside Chicago, was interviewed at the beginning of the season, and he gave a pretty revealing answer when asked if there was any line he wouldn’t cross to win:
I think people will learn very quickly that I’m not super religious, so if I swear on the Bible, I don’t think it means that much. … Winning the money would be amazing. I think that would be such a stepping stone for the rest of my life.
Maybe Andy will become super religious now, because God clearly loves him.
HollywoodLifers, weigh in: Are you glad Andy won Big Brother, or were you rooting for another member of the house? And what did you think of this season as a whole? Drop a comment with your thoughts!
